Water Damage Restoration Cost in Whittier, CA
Water Damage Whittier is a free homeowner referral service, not a restoration contractor. Any work is performed by an independent provider.
Compare published cost ranges and model selected repairs without treating the result as a contractor quote.
No published source below measures a Whittier-specific average. Save The Day Restoration, a company selling restoration in Los Angeles and Orange counties, reports $1,500–$5,000 for a small, one-room clean-water job, $5,000–$15,000 for several rooms needing structural drying, and $15,000–$50,000+ for severe losses. Those figures are the company’s own examples rather than a quote for your property. HomeAdvisor's per-square-foot figures cover broader U.S. situations and are not local Whittier rates.

How does the illustrative calculator work?
Enter affected floor area in square feet, choose a provisional water type, and add only repairs that apply to distinct surfaces. The calculator estimates an extraction-and-drying range using HomeAdvisor's published $3–$4/sq ft for clean water, $4–$6.50/sq ft for appliance or overflow water and $7–$7.50/sq ft for a high-contamination scenario. Outside floodwater can carry hazards, but the calculator cannot classify its actual condition. Choosing “not sure” spans $3–$7.50/sq ft. These labels are user planning scenarios: a qualified provider must assess actual contamination.
The model applies the published $500–$1,500 minimum service range described by Save The Day: the lower base is the greater of area × lower rate or $500; the upper base is the greater of area × upper rate or $1,500. It then adds only the selected repair ranges. Rounding expands the low end down to the nearest $100 and the high end up to the nearest $100.
Use the calculator below to model your own scenario. It shows an illustrative range only when the inputs pass validation.
Your own guess; a professional determines the actual category.

Which optional repair figures are included?
HomeAdvisor publishes $450–$1,600 per ceiling repair and $300–$850 per drywall repair as U.S. job ranges. Save The Day lists $2–$4/sq ft for carpet and pad removal plus $4–$12/sq ft for new carpet installed, or $4–$8/sq ft for hardwood removal plus $8–$20+/sq ft for replacement. The model consequently uses $6–$16 per distinct carpet square foot and $12–$28+ per distinct hardwood square foot; “or more” remains visible for hardwood and the sewage scenario. It does not include mold work, all rebuilding, source repair, separate equipment rental or an independent provider's charges.
Why not add equipment hire to the same base?
Save The Day separately lists $25–$75 a day for an air mover, $50–$200 for a dehumidifier and $75–$200 for a HEPA air scrubber. The floor-area extraction and drying rate can overlap such equipment use. Adding both without a provider's itemized scope risks double counting; equipment is described here, not automatically summed.
What does the estimate mean for insurance?
It is not a coverage decision or a contractor offer. The California Department of Insurance distinguishes typically covered sudden and accidental water damage from generally excluded flood and seepage damage, but your own policy wording and facts determine the result. Ask your insurer about the cause, deductible and applicable policy; the insurance guide explains the distinction without predicting a claim result.
Which published sources support the figures?
Save The Day Restoration, LA and Orange County price guide publishes its regional job and material ranges. HomeAdvisor, U.S. water damage cost guide publishes the category-based area rates and repair cases. Both are commercial sources; neither establishes what an individual Whittier contractor will charge. Sources checked October 9, 2026.
